Mocha Ice Cream

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp expresso powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • Sift sugar, expresso powder and cocoa into a bowl
  • Slowly whisk in milk till the sugar is dissolved
  • place bowl in freezer till liquid is under 36 degrees Fahrenheit (measure temperature at least every 10 minutes)
  • remove from freezer, whisk heavy cream and vanilla to the mix
  • Use mix with your ice cream maker following vendor instructions
